Lands End to John O Groats 2006
Land's End to John O'Groats July 29th Aug 5th 2006
In Aid of St. Michael's Hospice
On July 29th, eight members of Cycle Club Basingstoke (CCB) set off from Land's End and ride to John O'Groats in just eight days. Covering an average of 130 miles per day, the cyclists tested their levels of fitness and endurance in their efforts to raise money for St Michael's Hospice.
Through local radio and press coverage, the eight hoped their epic journey increased awareness of this valued local provider of palliative and supportive care and secure essential funds for it in the process. The commitment needed for such a feat is significant as it requires many months of training and organising.
